This is an in-depth review of the Million Dollar Shop Course and what it did to help boost my revenue for both my e-commerce stores!
First of all, I will NEVER encourage you to invest in something I haven’t tried myself.
I actually own 75% of Sarah’s courses and have gone through about 70% of them. I take her courses seriously because I take my business seriously.
And one of her courses that I really do recommend is her Million Dollar Shop Course.
What the Million Dollar Shop Course Did for My Businesses
Study from the Best Teacher
The more I go through her courses, the more I find myself getting into her head and understanding her as a person and a business owner, learning about her habits, the boundaries she sets in place, the routines she creates for herself, her strategies on how she does things quickly and effectively and what makes her SO successful.
I’m not saying or guaranteeing that you are going to be as successful as Sarah if you take her courses. Absolutely not.
What I am saying is if you want to replicate the success she has, you study from the best teacher, their habits, their strategies, their never-give up attitude, the kinda person they are when they are running their business and I believe that’s one of the KEY reasons why her business is SOOOooo successful.
I am blessed to say that I get a LOT of this insight because I’ve taken her courses and we became good friends as we chat regularly and help each other out. She’s so down to earth, you wouldn’t even believe she’s a multi-millionaire. It’s truly humbling and amazing to have met someone like her.
Quality Information
Listen, Sarah’s courses are TRULY top notch. She focuses on providing QUALITY information👌🏻. Information you can’t get elsewhere.
It’s really not your typical course – I’m telling you this right now. It’s not a cookie-cutter kinda course. Like something that fits to a specific person or business. The information you’ll be getting is something that you can apply in your digital product business no matter what kind of niche you choose for your store.
If you have more questions about this MDS course, Sarah told me that you can email her and ask her more about it to ease your worries. She’ll be happy to answer your questions. Just remember to mention my name if you do 🙂
You Can’t Get This Info Elsewhere
Everything about this course is written based on her own experience of being in e-commerce for 24 years. She did not get this information by looking around in the Internet elsewhere.
Prior to starting her Shopify store, she was making good money on e-bay (while living comfortably on ONLY an $18k/year income) and she was also building her blog for about 3 years before God convicted her to start a store on Shopify.
So she took the strategies she’s learned from selling on ebay (along with her 20+ ecommerce experience at that time) and applied it to her Shopify store.
In her first month, she’s made $52,060!
By the end of her first year, she’s made under a million dollars in her store!
And her income just sky-rocketed from there on.
Listen, if you wanna go in depth and build your store in Shopify the RIGHT way from the ground up, this course is for YOU.
Wanna Learn from the BEST?
Sarah is THE person to listen to. There is SO much wisdom and great strategies in her course that will knock your socks off!
I went through her course at least 3 times! That was how serious I was. And each time, I find myself learning more and more because when I first got started, I was in a different headspace than when I have already built my store. Plus, she keeps on adding valuable information to the course. It was the BEST investment I could’ve ever made for myself.
If you are on Etsy and you want to make the transition to finally owning your own store and taking charge of your own list, you MUST get on Shopify!
Stop Wasting Time
I mean its a seriously awesome platform.
Actually I wished I got on it sooner so that I didn’t have to waste SO much time, energy and money.
Before Shopify, I wasted years on WooCommerce, Etsy and Groovekart just because I wanna save a few bucks and not pay the subscription fee of Shopify.
Okay, I will admit. Etsy is a great platform to start on when you are just starting out. Yes, get onto Etsy if you want to. It’s free to create a store, you pay a minimal fee to list your products for 4 months and Etsy takes a percentage in fees when you make a sale. You’ll get your first sale easily there (to encourage you) as you are exposed to a big marketplace where people are ready to buy your things.
And if you want to own your own store but you’re low on cash – then start with WooCommerce (that’s how I got started).
It’s Still Not Too Late
But if you are already on WooCommerce or Etsy or both, or if you’re just starting to use these platforms, listen up!
After you start making some sales on WooCommerce and Etsy, I suggest you put a percentage of your sale from those platforms aside to save up for your Shopify store maybe something like 3-6 months worth. Start planning ahead to start transitioning to Shopify because believe you me, it is WORTH it!
If you’re really serious about building your business, establishing your brand and building your credibility, owning your own store is the way to go. And choosing the RIGHT platform to do so is ABSOLUTELY essential for your business.
My E-Commerce Experience
Listen, to date I have about 8 years of ecommerce experience because before running this digital store business, I was running a physical product business (I still am), importing products from the UK and retailing them to the NZ market. And I was using WooCommerce (WC) to host my products listings.
It is not a bad platform actually. But I tell you what, the amount of time it takes to design the store, update the site and plugins, maintaining your store is shockingly time-consuming. And this does not include the time doing your stock take, marketing, doing your accounts, packing and shipping your orders and everything that comes with running a physical product business. Phew!
Just listening to myself, makes me tired!
Lost of Sales 🙁
Plus WC is not cheap either. You have to buy and install multiple plugins (more like 30-40 plugins, depending on what you need for your store) to help run your e-commerce store.
And because of all those plugins, they absolutely slowed down my site to the point that I had to switch to a better web host that has CDN which helps speed up my site.
Even still there was A LOT of problems with my store especially showing up on mobile. It was SOOOOoooo slowwwwww. It took about a freaking MINUTE to load my site up. It’s ridiculous!
I must have LOST a LOT of sales from the WC platform because of this. And to think that I have run my business on this WC platform for 7 years! 🤦🏻♀️
Ugh! The pain of not knowing about how great SHOPIFY is earlier!
One of the Reasons I Made the Switch to Shopify
Uploading a product is not very straightforward either on WC, especially if you have different colors, fragrance or design variant under one product. It was definitely a learning curve for me when I got started. There were so many aspects to it and many challenges I have to face with this platform that in the end, I just got fed up and thought to myself;
“OMG, if I were to sell this business one day, how will anyone want to deal with this amount of work of maintaining the store. Most people who want to buy a business wants to make money and most of them aren’t even technical. Even I wouldn’t want to buy this business if I knew how much time I have to put into maintaining the store”.
That was one of the reasons why I decided to switch to Shopify. I didn’t want to maintain my site anymore and I’d rather spend my time just selling the products and running my business.

Is It Really Worth It?
Yes, I admit there are some advantages with WooCommerce. You don’t only pay cheap hosting to run your WordPress store for years, but you also get to customize your store the way you like it.
But the amount of TIME and MONEY you spend on plugins to run your WC store, not to mention, the amount of FEES you pay to Etsy from your sales is probably MORE than a month of subscription on a basic Shopify plan – this is especially true if you’re making a lot of sales on Etsy.
Etsy isn’t what it used to be. Everything has gone up, in fees, in ad spent and you have to constantly update your SEO of your listings to get on top of your competition especially when you are a new seller. Gosh, I could go on and on…
I Implemented What I’ve Learned
Before I moved my digital business (Janice Designs) and physical product stores over to Shopify from WooCommerce/Groovekart, I wanted to test out what I’ve learned from the MDS Course by Sarah.
I am an ABSOLUTE fan because if you have implemented what you’ve learned from the BEST teacher, you get results. And results I definitely got!
My Results on Groovekart
So much so, when I first implemented the strategies from her course to my digital business in July 2019 (on Groovekart – it’s a terrible platform by the way – I DON’T recommend it), it 5x my sales!! But the analytics there were so horrible and confusing. There were so many things I did not like about it, the set up of creating a new product listing and I really hated that there’s a limit to the digital products storage you can upload on their platform. It also costs me so much time to get my customers their digital products.
Because the platform was bad (especially for digital products), my success wasn’t sustainable and my sales did not perform as well as it did on WooCommerce. In less than 8 months, I’ve had it! It was time to listen to Sarah and switch over!
Ugh. To this day I wanna kick myself for not switching over earlier. I was stubborn and thought I knew better.
I Finally Made the Move
So March 2020 was when finally I moved over to Shopify (digital business). Again, I went back through Sarah’s course to make sure I set up my store to exactly what she’s recommended. I then launched my store on my birthday, on April 2020.
On the 3rd day of my store launch – I’ve made about $315 in sales!! (totally covered my first year of Shopify subscription fees- it’s cheaper if you pay annually)✌🏻😄.
Actually during that time, Shopify was running a 3 month free trial, so I actually benefited from it. I was already running my store for free and I got paid to run my store for the whole year!!!
How awesome was that?!!
I was OVER the moon and I did a happy dance! 💃🏻

My First Year on Shopify
In my first year on Shopify, my digital store’s revenue had gone up by 312.8%. 4x my revenue from Groovekart and 2x my revenue from WooCommerce.
In my last post on Here’s How to be an Amazing NEW You in This New Year, I mentioned that 2021 was one of the toughest year in my life and business.
Well, the funny thing was, I felt like I hardly did anything for my store last year. With minimal marketing (probably mostly to my list only), I still made about 44% in revenue increase for my store in 2021.
I Moved My Physical Product Store Over to Shopify Too
Because of the results I was seeing on my Janice Designs store on Shopify, I made the decision to move my physical product store from WooCommerce over to Shopify as well.
So last year, on May 2021, I finally moved my physical product store from WooCommerce to Shopify.
In the first month, I saw an increase of 87% in revenue from the previous month. And the next month, a 20% increase from the month before.
I was shocked.
You see my sales have been making round and about the same amount every month and so to see the sudden spike of sales just left me speechless. I knew it was because of Shopify, plain simple.

There are a few reasons to this.
Stores on Shopify are super fast. Its fast on the desktop and its fast on the mobile as well. I was losing sales on my WC store because my site on mobile was SOOoooo slowwwww…
By looking at my Shopify analytics, I was shocked to see that there were a lot of people who prefer shopping on mobile.
The reason was clear as day. It was plain simple.
I was actually gaining the extra sales from people who were purchasing my products on mobile.
Aha! Light bulb moment!💡
Other Opportunities
A couple of days ago, I was emailed by a popular Shopify theme company and they asked if they could do a documentary of my physical product business in New Zealand. They reached out to me because they’ve found my business on the Shopify platform and they liked what they see.
I’ve just said yes to them. This is amazing because my business gets to be exposed to many more thousands of people on their platform – reaching more people to my store.
Another reason why you should get onto Shopify – you’re exposed to many other new opportunities, that will expose your business to other marketplaces which in turn helps to drive traffic to your store.
You see, Shopify is well known for their robust e-commerce platform and Shopify store owners or app developers seem to know which businesses are on Shopify. It’s like magic. Sometimes I also wonder how the heck they found me. There must be a Shopify directory somewhere that lists all Shopify stores.
Why You Should Listen to Me
So you see, choosing the right platform is SOOooo essential for your online store! Shopify is great for selling physical products as well as digital products!
And why should you listen to me?
Because I have experience in selling both these kinds of product.
I have gone through SOOOOoo much trial and error that I DON’T want you make the same mistakes as I did. Expensive mistakes.
You don’t wanna go through the hard lessons I’ve been through. It’s painful financially and you waste SO much time.

You Absolutely Need Both!
If it wasn’t for Sarah’s course, I wouldn’t have discovered how wonderful Shopify is. Both of the information I’ve learned from her course and being on the Shopify platform has really improved both of my stores’ bottom line.
I tried her strategies on a different platform and I failed. So you really do need BOTH her course and the right platform to be on to succeed.
If you are really serious in creating a successful store and building your store the RIGHT way in Shopify – you absolutely NEED Sarah’s course. She’s the real deal. You will LOVE this course (and her) as much as I have.
So if you want to invest in yourself on something worthwhile, this is it.
