I came across this prayer last year and I absolutely love it.
I discovered this prayer from a holy, charismatic priest, Father Jim Blount and came to learn that Father Jim is also an exorcist priest for more than 40 years. Father Jim works with an International healing ministry and has a special grace from God which he has the gift of healing, prophecy and deliverance.
At first, I was a little thrown off by his words and a bit skeptical even, because he isn’t your usual priest you meet every Sunday. But the more I learned about him, and the more I listened to his talks, I realized that Father Jim is real, genuine, wise and truly a gift for our time, to us all.
What is the Unity Prayer?
The Unity Prayer is a special prayer that’s part of the Flame of Love Devotion. This prayer was dictated by Jesus and given to a Hungarian mystic named Elizabeth Kindelmann. The Unity Prayer calls us to be in one deep union with Jesus and to participate in His life, fully and wholly.
The prayer goes like this:
My adorable Jesus,
May our feet journey together.
May our hands gather in unity.
May our hearts beat in unison.
May our souls be in harmony.
May our thoughts be as one.
May our ears listen to the silence together.
May our glances profoundly penetrate each other.
May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father.Jesus said, “Through this prayer, Satan will be blind and souls will not be led into sin. ( p.25 ) The Lord explained, “Satan being blind signifies a worldwide triumph of my Sacred Heart, the freedom of souls and a full opening of the road of salvation.” (p. 87)
The Flame of Love Devotion is a way to participate in the divine mission of saving souls. It is based on the idea that God’s love is like a flame that’s meant to consume our hearts and transform us into instruments of His will. To practice the devotion, you can recite the Unity Prayer and meditate on God’s love. It’s been also recommended to offer up sacrifices and sufferings for the salvation of souls.
Words from Father Jim
Here are some words from Father Jim Blount about the Unity prayer,
“This prayer captures the essence of what He desires; God wants us more than we want Him… The Unity prayer captures His heart. It captures the Sacred Heart of Jesus that He wants to be one with us.. walk with us…His thoughts to be one with us. He wants to be one with His children… The Lord promised Elizabeth that the flame of love would come down over us and literally blind Satan.” |
Who is Elizabeth Kindelmann?
Elizabeth Kindelmann (1913-1985) was a Hungarian mystic and visionary. Throughout her life, she has received messages from Jesus and Mary. She was a wife and mother of six children, and she lived a humble and simple life in the town of Szeged in Hungary.
Elizabeth’s mystical experiences began in the 1960s. Consequently, she started receiving interior locutions from Jesus and Mary. The themes of repentance, prayer and the salvation of souls are centered on these messages. Elizabeth was told to spread these messages and to encourage others to participate in the divine mission of saving souls.
Important Messages
One of the most important messages that Elizabeth received was the call to pray the Flame of Love Rosary. This is a special form of prayer that is said to be a powerful way to console the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, and to bring about the conversion of sinners.
Spiritual Graces and Blessings
Elizabeth’s messages and experiences were initially met with skepticism and even opposition from some members of the Church hierarchy. However, over time, her messages gained a following. As a result, many people began to experience spiritual graces and blessings through the practice of the Flame of Love Devotion.
Today, Elizabeth Kindelmann is a significant figure in the Catholic charismatic renewal movement. Her messages and devotions continue to inspire and comfort many people around the world.
Words from Elizabeth Kindelmann
In the words of Elizabeth Kindelmann, she says:
“I made this prayer completely mine. The Lord meditated on it many times with me, asserting that these are His eternal longings. He taught me this prayer, so that I would in turn teach it to others. With all our strength and mind, let us make our own His eternal thoughts and burning desires.” Jesus: “This prayer is an instrument in your hands. By collaborating with Me, Satan will be blinded by it; and because of his blindness, souls will not be led into sin.” |

What It Means to Blind Satan
I’ve taken a quote from the theological examination of the Spiritual Diary of Mrs. Kindelmann. It says:
Satan (temporarily) loses his power, his strength to lead souls to damnation, and temptations in souls lessen or cease. We are not speaking about exorcism, but about a grace, which frees the soul against the temptations of the Evil One.

However, in some cases, this prayer can do more than bring about a special grace to be one with Christ.
In the video below, Father Jim Blount explains the powerful effect of the Unity Prayer to blind Satan. He also tells the personal story of two persons on different accounts being freed from demons by its invocation.
